The WATA Population Report

Game grading authority WATA released its first population report. The inaugural report features only NES games, though WATA has stated they plan to release a more comprehensive report in 2022.

This report is a major development for the collectible video game market and significantly increases transparency for collectors and investors alike.

We did a quick lookup to see what the report means for the games on Public, so you don’t have to. Here’s what we found:

Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!!

Wata 9.4, A+ Sealed, No Rev-A, Round SOQ

This is the earliest variant of the game with no copies graded higher. There is one other copy of this variant that has achieved a 9.4 grade for a total population of 2.

Nintendo World Championships

Wata 8.5, Grey Cartridge

In total there have been 26 grey cartridges graded by Wata, with only 2 achieving a higher grade (9.0) and 2 (including ours) achieving an equivalent grade (8.5).
